Filip Delanote

Filip Delanote of Leisele, Belgium, has been appointed president of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, a nonprofit foundation that supports Kiwanis International’s mission of serving the children of the world. Delanote will serve as president during the 2022-23 Kiwanis year. He also served as the Kiwanis Children’s Fund treasurer in 2020-21 and as its president-elect in 2021-22.

As a Kiwanis member for 35 years, Delanote has held various positions. For instance, he was simultaneously the Children’s Fund ambassador and European vice chairman for The Eliminate Project.

He was previously active in the Kiwanis International-European Federation (KI-EF) as president of Growth Sponsored Nations. He also was a distinguished lieutenant-governor and distinguished governor in the Belgium-Luxembourg District.

Delanote’s Kiwanis membership started with the Kiwanis Club of Roeselare Rodenbach and then the Kiwanis Club of Torhout Houtland, where he was both president and secretary for several years. He has been chairman of various club committees.

In his passion for Kiwanis, Delanote became a function-related member of the Kiwanis clubs of Central London, United Kingdom (acting chairman for the U.K.) and Aunay Vallee d’Odon, France. Recently, he became a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Jabbeke “de vier winden” in Belgium.

As a supporter of the Children’s Fund, Delanote is a Diamond 15-level George F. Hixson Fellow, a Diamond 6-level Walter Zeller Fellow and a Dr. Wil Blechman Fellow. He is also a life member, a Centennial Award recipient, a recipient of the Kiwanis International Distinguished Service Award for financial viability and a member of the Founders Circle.

Retired since 2021, Delanote is married to Ann and proud father of five children, two-plus children and 13 grandchildren.
