KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE
Tadao Oda of Sendai, Japan, was elected to a three-year term as a Trustee of Kiwanis International at the Kiwanis Asia Pacific Convention in March 2008.
Tadao has belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Sendai for the past 9 years and is a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Tokyo. He is a past president of the Sendai club, a Heritage Society member, and is a Diamond Level George F. Hixson Fellow of the Kiwanis International Foundation.
Before joining the International Board, Tadao served on the Kiwanis International Committee on Membership growth and New Club Building for Asia Pacific and as a member of the International Task Foce on Leadership Education. He has served as a lieutenant governor and governor of the Japan District.
In addition to his involvement in Kiwanis, Tadao is a professor emeritus at Tohoku University. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees at Kyoto University and his PhD at Harvard University.
Tadao and his wife, Michiko, are parents to one son.
