West, Bert 2016Bert West of Divide, Colorado, USA, was elected to a three-year term as a trustee of Kiwanis International in June 2016 at the 101st Annual Kiwanis International Convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Bert is a third generation Kiwanian. He joined in 1988 and has had 27 years of perfect attendance. He is currently a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ute Pass-Woodland Park. He previously belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Woodlake and the Sequoia-Visalia Kiwanis Club. He holds Life Member status.

Bert was inducted into his club’s Ute Pass Hall of Fame. He is also a Lusche Fellow in his district. In addition to club and district honors, Bert has been recognized as a Kiwanis International Legacy Member and Legion of Honor member. He also received a Tablet of Honor for his service to the Kiwanis International Foundation. Additionally, Bert is a Charter Walter Zeller Fellow and a George F. Hixson Fellow.  

Bert served as Rocky Mountain District governor in the 2010-11 administrative year. He was lieutenant governor of Division 18 in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District from 1991-92 and lieutenant governor of Division 4 in Rocky Mountain from 2008-09. He is a past president of the Woodlake and the Ute Pass-Wooldand Park clubs.

A roofer by trade, Bert prefers the great outdoors. When he’s not working or participating in Kiwanis activities, he enjoys boating and hunting.

Bert and his wife, Sandy, have been married for more than 30 years. They have two adult children, Megan and Lauren, plus Ace “The Wonder Dog.”
