On February 27, 2018, club members can support National Pancake Day by serving as ambassadors to encourage restaurant patrons to support Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Beginning in each January, watch for information from Kiwanis International about registering to volunteer on National Pancake Day.

Use these assets to promote volunteer opportunities with National Pancake Day.

What should we do if our local IHOP knows nothing of the promotion?

Clubs are asked to register at www.kiwanis.org/npd. There is no need to contact the local IHOP in advance or after registering. IHOP HQ sends the local IHOPs a list of who is volunteering and when, so they know to look for the Kiwanis volunteers. If members go to the IHOP before registering, it can be confusing to them as they are trained to wait for the IHOP HQ to connect them to Kiwanis.

What should we do if our local IHOP won’t honor the promotion?

Unfortunately, this happens because some IHOPs are owned by businesses that choose to participate in another fundraiser or nothing at all. Be sure the clubs are expanding their search on www.kiwanis.org/npd and see if another area IHOP is doing National Pancake Day. If not, be creative! Eat pancakes, make a donation to your local CMN hospital or contact your CMN hospital to see if you can help in another way.

What if we don’t have an IHOP?

Same as above. Be creative! Eat pancakes, make a donation to your local CMN hospital or contact your CMN hospital to see if you can help in another way.

What if we live outside the US and want to help?

National Pancake Day is represented throughout the United States and Canada, find your local hospital. Same as above. Be creative! Eat pancakes, make a donation to the cause by logging onto CMNhospitals.org & clicking Donate.
