Gary Levine for vice president

Levine%2c Gary 2016

Gary Levine, Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada
Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound
Eastern Canada and the Carribean District

Born in the Minnesota-Dakotas District, I grew up in the California-Nevada-Hawaii and the Western Canada Districts. After attending university, I continued my education in London, England.
Julia and I live in the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District, wintering in the Florida District.
My company, DocPC, covers the world of technology.

Why did you decide to run for office?
I believe that it is imperative to grow our great organization. We must instill a culture of openness and accountability. I want to help build trust between our members and Kiwanis International. I hope to encourage everyone to work together, pulling together in the same direction in order to prosper.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?
I have years of change-management, volunteer engagement, media and technology experience. I’ve served on a myriad of boards and committees, including city council, police, public health, economic development and tourism. That, and my 29 years with Kiwanis, gives me the skill-set needed for this position.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?
I want to leave the organization stronger than I found it. That means more Kiwanians doing more Kiwanis service. I want to initiate new policies and procedures that ensure accountability, transparency and continued fiscal responsibility. KI and our Board meetings should be a welcoming place where all members feel included.
