July newsletter welcome

Jul 08, 2014

We are so grateful for the wonderful comments many of you have shared about our newsletter! We are pleased to be in regular touch with you about the work of the Kiwanis International Foundation.

After all, you’re a member of the Kiwanis family—and it’s
your foundation. In fact, one of the ways we describe our work is this: The Kiwanis International Foundation extends your Kiwanis impact. When I say or hear those words, I think first about my own club—the Kiwanis Club of Indianapolis, Indiana. My club is well known in our city because our service makes a significant impact. But we are also donors to the Kiwanis International Foundation, which means our impact also reaches children outside our community.

Most of us will never travel to Haiti—but our gifts to the foundation helped the Kiwanis Club of Spittal an der Drau, Austria, build houses in Haiti for families uprooted by the 2010 earthquake. Most of us have never been to India—but our gifts helped the Kiwanis Club of Belton, Texas, provide support to the Shillong Center, which cares for homeless children. Most of us don’t know much about marine biology, but our support for the foundation helped the Kiwanis Club of Amityville, New York, provide a life-changing experience for disadvantaged youth.

These stories—these children—are the reasons we give. And when you make a gift, the Kiwanis International Foundation makes it work. So your Kiwanis impact is extended—in your community and in the farthest reaches of the globe. Thank you for partnering with us to improve the world, one child and one community at a time.

Yours,

Ann Updegraff Spleth, CFRE
