The K-Kids at Park Avenue Elementary in Mount Gilead, Ohio, decided it was time to step up after the horrible earthquake in Haiti. So they put together "Teacher-Take-Away."
Each classroom had a jar to collect money. The class with the most money got to have their teacher taken away for one hour on a chosen day, and they got to have an ice-cream party sponsored and served by the K-Kids.
Collectively, they were able to raise over $1,400 to send to Haiti through the Morrow County Chapter of the Red Cross. The director of the Red Cross came to a meeting, and the children presented him with the money.
The pride felt was evident by the smiles on their faces that they knew they had made an impact on the relief efforts. I am so proud of them!
