2011 Kiwanis International convention begins

Dec 07, 2012

The 96th annual Kiwanis International Convention has begun! Kiwanians from around the world are converging on Geneva, Switzerland. When registration opened, thousands of members streamed into the Palexpo, excited to participate.

After all, this is expected to be one of the most significant annual meetings in Kiwanis International’s history: the fundraising campaign for The Eliminate Project is shifting into high gear.

Yesterday, attendees congregated for a welcome reception hosted by the State of Geneva. People embraced old friends, took photos, enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and made plans to tour the old city together.

In addition to the city’s allure, Kiwanis-family members seem to be looking forward to invigorating their commitment to the organization’s mission during the next three days. The workshops, fellowship and keynote speeches by Kiwanis leaders—as well as by Dr. Jane Goodall and Jamie Lee Curtis—will undoubtedly renew their service-minded hearts for the upcoming year.
