100,000 Meals for Haiti

Dec 08, 2012

Even Past President Ken Bradley wasn't sure we could do it. But with the help of President Brian Keough, President-Elect Pat Pogue, Dean Yoder, Russ Adsit and many hard-working members of the South Denver, Colorado, Kiwanis Club, 100,000 meals were packaged for delivery to Denver Human Services and kids in Haiti.

The Memorial Day event was promoted by Channel 9 News, by Mark McIntosh and Tawnya Rush, on the Colorado&Company program. Volunteers from throughout the community showed up to help and to learn more about what Kiwanis does.

The Kiwanis Club of South Denver did it. We broke all the records for prior Kids Against Hunger events in the club! The South Denver Kiwanis Club is the first Kiwanis Club to be an official satellite of the Kids Against Hunger Program and the first club to package that many meals in one day.
