Earlier this year, U.S. President Barack Obama initiated legislation establishing September 11 as a day of service and remembrance. In the continued spirit of service, the Marine Park Intermediate School Builders Club in Brooklyn, New York, began the school year by creating cards for City Meals on Wheels.
This year, the students were excited to be part of their nation's Day of Service. They enthusiastically created cheerful cards to include in the meals that reach many hungry New Yorkers through Meals on Wheels. Sheila Clay, the Meals for Wheels liaison who has worked closely with the club, has expressed much enthusiasm and appreciation for the club’s involvement over the past year.
The Builders Club is looking forward to its upcoming projects including Trick or Treating for UNICEF and packing stockings for our troops overseas.
