KIWANIS CLUB OF EAST COBB COUNTY, MARIETTA, GEORGIA
KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE
John M. “Johnny” Johnson of Marietta, Georgia, was elected to a three-year term as a trustee of Kiwanis International in June 2010 at the 95th Annual Kiwanis International Convention in Las Vegas.
Johnny is a charter member of the East Cobb County Kiwanis Club where he served as distinguished club president and secretary. He is a past-distinguished governor of the Georgia District, first chairman of the Past Lieutenant Governors Association, past-president of the Georgia District Foundation and winner of the district’s “Workhorse of the Year” award. He has been district chairman more than 30 times.
A life member, Johnny served as Kiwanis International Foundation trustee for 2006-09 and is a Tablet of Honor recipient, George F. Hixson Ambassador and Heritage Society charter member, a member of the Legion of Honor, has served on several foundation committees and is a charter Walter Zeller Fellow. He also is the recipient of the foundation’s Larry Hapgood District Chairman of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.
Johnny holds a degree in management from Georgia State University. He has served as a member of the Cobb County School Board, was chairman of the East Cobb Division of the Chamber of Commerce, was chosen East Cobb Citizen of the Year and is a past president of the YMCA of Cobb County. He is a past-president of the Georgia Jewelers Association and was honored as Georgia Jeweler of the Year.
Johnny and his wife, Anna, are parents of two children and have four grandchildren.
