It is with joy I now call you a Kiwanian. I know you soon feel the same pride I do for all the good charity done by the members of Kiwanis International. You are joining the hearts and hands of more than 600,000 men, women, boys and girls who are making communities better places to live.
But there is still a lot more to do. My theme for the year is “We Build Bridges for Children to the Future.” There are children who are sick, who are hungry and who need educational opportunities. We need to find ways to help. By connecting them to a bright and better life, we will live our organization’s motto of “Serving the Children of the World.”
Our organization celebrates its 100th birthday in 2015. Think about how many lives have been changed during that time. The number is truly astonishing. You are now part of that legacy and I hope you remain so for a very long time. It is exciting to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Please invite your family and friends to join us on this mission.
The benefits you will receive as a member of Kiwanis International are intangible. Serving and making a difference in the life of another will make a difference in your own life. It has in mine. You will also have an opportunity to make new friends in your community and around the world. I encourage you to take advantage of a free registration to the 99th Annual Kiwanis International Convention July 17-20, 2014, in Tokyo-Chiba, Japan.
To learn more about our global organization, please go to www.kiwanis.org. You may contact our Member Services staff at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call them at 317-875-8755, ext.411. You will also find us on Facebook; we hope you will take the time to "like" us. Maybe one day we will get a chance to meet in person.
We are all members of this organization for one reason: to help people, especially children, live better lives. Thank you for being my partner.
Yours in Kiwanis Service,
