Wednesday to Saturday and everything between
The 91st Annual Kiwanis International Convention officially begins on
Wednesday, June 28, and ends on Saturday, July 1.
Wednesday includes early-bird hours for registration
and the Exhibit Hall, but there is no general session.
Thursday’s schedule includes “Kiwanis Presents: Art
Linkletter” and then brings the Kiwanis world together for the Opening
Session, featuring Cirque Sublime, at 1:30 p.m. Later, at 8 p.m., Kiwanis
presents “Live On-Stage: Spotlight on Broadway.” Check the registration
form for ticket information about Linkletter’s appearance
and the Broadway tribute. The day also includes the first Kiwanis Resource
Exchange, which offers a variety of educational and informational forums
on topics such as Kiwanis service, leadership, and membership development.
Friday begins with two informative presentations: “Spreading
Contagious Enthusiasm: How One Person Can Make a Difference” by Barbara
Glanz and “How to Explain Death to Children” by Dana Cable. A second round
of education forums also are scheduled during the morning. The First Business
Session begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday, when delegates will conduct elections.
Saturday concludes the convention with a full slate
of activities. Motivationalist and magician Rick Nielsen speaks on the
topic “The Magic of Caring,” and Dana Cable will address the subject of
“Understanding Grief.” Another group of education forums will be followed
by the Second Business Session, when delegates will consider proposed
amendments and resolutions. The Closing Session, scheduled at 7 p.m.,
will feature inspiring entertainment by the Famous People Players.
