Serve up your best Spam

Meet Kay, your convention host

Who says go to Hawaii? Past conventioners, that’s who

Where are the best convention cities?

Serve up your best Spam

There is, according to Hormel Foods’ Web site, a Spam Museum, “Spammobiles,” and fans worldwide. Most of the fans live—and eat Spam—in Hawaii.

The islanders—including some who will host the 90 th Annual Kiwanis International Convention—crave the meaty treat. According to the 1987 Hawai’i’s Spam Cookbook, Hawaiians top all other US states in Spam consumption, buying 4 million cans annually. That’s nearly 11,000 cans daily and more than three times more Spam than any other state. And Hawaiians find a variety of ways to prepare it.

How Hawaiian are you? Share your favorite Spam recipe in the Member Community. The deadline for submissions expired, but watch for new chances to win in the May 2005 Kiwanis Connected.
