Meet Bob Grashoff

Bob GrashoffMEMBER: Kiwanis Club of Indian River, Viera, Florida

A “TERRIFIC KID” HIMSELF: Bob has been reading to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at University Park Elementary School once a week for 15 years. Bob coordinates the Terrific Kids program at the elementary school and for years has hosted pizza parties and cookouts for kindergarten classes and Terrific Kid recipients. Bob also was responsible for coordinating the construction of two storage shelters to store much of the kindergarten equipment.

GRASSHOPPER PARK: The elementary students call Bob “Mr. Grasshopper,” and this past May, Grasshopper Park was dedicated at the school.

QUOTABLE: “Mr. Grashoff is a wonderful role model for the children,” says pre-kindergarten teacher Cindy Moore. “He reads to the children every Tuesday, organizes the annual prekindergarten and kindergarten family picnic, gives out Kiwanis club sponsored Terrific Kid awards once a month, and has gone on many class field trips. His love of reading is contagious. He is a ray of sunshine in the children’s eyes.”
