Sample Kiwanis’ international cultures
Kiwanis clubs exist in more than 90 nations worldwide. To get an idea of Kiwanis’ vast reach, you can spend the next decade or so in a globe-trotting “inter-club.” Or, you can go to San Antonio this June and sample it in one setting at the 92nd Annual Kiwanis International Convention.

Already registered for the 2007 convention are Kiwanians from as near as New Braunfels, Texas, to as far away as Austria, Australia, India, and Japan—and everywhere in between.
“The International convention is a mixing bowl of Kiwanians’ cultures, club experiences, and ideas,” says director of meetings and conventions Kelly Sears. “That’s one of the many things that makes each convention truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“Not only are conventioners privy to world-class speakers, contagious enthusiasm, and the best Kiwanis resources and information, but they also are mingling with other Kiwanians from around the world, sharing ideas and perspectives in both formal settings and casual conversations.”
Conventioning Kiwanians represent their home clubs both informally and in House of Delegates discussions, voting for proposed amendments, resolutions, and the next class of International leaders. They bring back to their clubs a wealth of tools, motivation, and experiences to strengthen membership, service projects, and more.
“The convention is an invaluable experience,” Kelly says. “The better the representation of Kiwanians from around the world, the more we can learn from one another and build Kiwanis to new heights.”
