President's Message

One word says it all

Dave Curry
Kiwanis International President

I have been looking for a magical, transformational word that will encourage Kiwanians to pursue greatness in our organization. What does a word that powerful sound like?

A word with the kind of power that motivates members to not only being proud of what we do, but to envision their club as an integral part of improving the lives of children worldwide.

A word that inspires district leaders to embrace the challenge of expanding our mission through new clubs and districts, but understanding that each club has to be founded solidly on our mission of community service and our emphasis on leadership and character development so they not only survive, they thrive.

We know the adage “one can make a difference” has been true throughout history. It is also true in your club. Every great project begins with an idea, which sparks a suggestion, which releases a club’s potential. Every vision of Kiwanis clubs working together to serve children worldwide begins with one voice.

I believe the delegates who elected me as your Kiwanis International President did so because of their desire for our organization to pursue a humanitarian focus. But I also believe that through example and a consistent effort we inspire others to lead their clubs to great heights of service. Each club that embraces this vision is an integral part of Kiwanis International’s ascent toward altruistic greatness. I hope you are a part of that journey of significant service. Are you the one?

By the way, I think I know the word.

Please.
