My Kiwanis Moment

Graduation day

My Kiwanis Moment from Carole Morgan of Kiwanis Club of Marietta, Georgia

Five-year-old Quinn is the youngest child to complete Canine Assistants training. Our club raised the money to support a dog for the rest of Quinn’s life—without cost to his family.

Along with his mom, dad, and grandmother, we attended Quinn’s and his golden retriever Kona’s “graduation day.” We shared the joy of watching Kona’s devotion to Quinn. Their partnership, which will make Quinn’s wheelchair seem to go away, is an indelible memory.

The family presented a program and expressed their thanks to the entire club at one of our meetings. Our members had misty eyes and warm hearts as they saw what their fundraising was all about. Keeping my composure while presiding over the meeting also was difficult.

We did forever change the world of this very special child.
