Materials, experts nurture club growth
Kiwanis clubs worldwide have a variety of brochures, pamphlets, manuals, and people to help them grow Kiwanis toward its 1-million-member goal.
The following aids are available in most parts of the Kiwanis world:
CHANGING TOMORROWS TODAY: This brochure is designed for one-on-one recruiting by leading a conversation with a prospective member. It also contains a New Member Information form.
SERVING THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD TRIFOLD: This handy brochure provides a brief overview of Kiwanis and is designed for wide distribution at events and projects or to be included with club mailings.
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MANUAL: This tool outlines steps in a club membership-recuirtment campaign, from deciding to initiate the campaign to the inducation ceremonies to assigning new members to their first service project. Also included are club-evaluation worksheets.
MARKETING KIT: This brochure includes general information for new members and should be given to community leaders and news media representatives.
SIX PAK: These easy-to-implement recruitment packages focus on themes: Operation Bring 'Em Back aims to return former members to the club. 4 Under 40 suggests ways to attract younger members. I Respect Someone promotes the Objects of Kiwanis. Service Leadership Parents builds clubs' rosters by extending membership invitations to parents of Key club, Kiwanis Junior, Circle K, and other sponsored programs. Legion of Honor recognizes members with 25 or more years of service. Through the Club Service Project Recipients program, a club recruits representatives of organizations that receive Kiwanis assistance.
GROWTH REVOLUTION: Two programs--Rebuilding a Small club and Kiwanis Family Expansion--are dynamic tools designed to revitalize clubs.
MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: The Media Tool Kit, PR and Marketing Handbook, and Graphic Standards Manual contain a number of tools that assist clubs in developing name recognition in their communities.
SERVICE IN A BOX: These kits outline east-to-implement projects, which are effective for small and new clubs. Bring Up Grades, for example, honors students who improve their academic performance. Read Around the World teaches the joy of reading.
ONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BROCHURE: This pocket-size brochure expands like an accordion into a booklet of organizational information. Its portable size is designed for widespread distribution at Kiwanis events and projects.
GROWTH GROUPS: In North America, the TAG (Together Achieving Growth) Team is a group of experts who are ready to help open new clubs and promote and strengthen existing clubs.
STAFF: The Kiwanis International Office and regional service centers staffs also are available to assist clubs with their membership needs. Club development managers and field service representatives work directly with clubs in specific regions and nations worldwide.
KIWANIS FAMILY STORE: Cards to invite prospective members to meetings, "We Miss You" cards to retain current members, and other items are sold online.
Contact the International Office in Indianapolis, your regional service center, or district office to inquire further about membership assistance.
