Kip Crain of Wooster, Ohio, USA, was elected to the board of trustees of Kiwanis International during a July special meeting held in lieu of the 2020 Kiwanis International Convention.

Kip has devoted his adult life to helping children prepare for successful futures. He is a past secretary, vice president, president and director of the Kiwanis Club of Wooster. He also served the Kiwanis Ohio District as governor and lieutenant governor. As a committee chair, board member and officer, Kip started several youth programs and clubs and raised money for the Kiwanis Children’s Fund.

He is a member of the Kiwanis Ohio District Hall of Fame and has received the George F. Hixson and Walter Zeller awards.

Kip earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts in Supervision and Administration from The Ohio State University, as well as a doctorate in leadership studies from Bowling Green State University. For the past 17 years, Kip has served as school superintendent for Wayne County Schools Career Center and has received multiple awards including 2017 Ohio Superintendent of the Year and 2019 Ohio Administrator of the Year.

Kip’s career-long involvement in Ohio Education includes past president of Ohio Career Technical Administrators, Ohio Association of Career-Technical Superintendents and the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education Administration Division. He is also a member of the Buckeye Association for School Administrators (BASA), the BASA Career and Technical Education Advisor Committee and the BASA Ohio Report Card Committee. Other positions Kip holds include secretary and executive council member of the board of directors of Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties.

In addition, Kip is a member of the Ohio Department of Education Carl D. Perkins V advisory committee and the Wayne County and Wooster City tax abatement committees. He has served as a Sunday school teacher, youth advisor, schoolteacher, director, principal and superintendent.

Kip and his wife, Becky, who is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Wooster, have three adult daughters and seven grandsons.
