Robert M. "Bob" Garretson
Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Robert M. (Bob) Garretson of Fort Collins, Colorado was appointed to serve a three-year term as Kiwanis Children’s Fund trustee, beginning October 1, 2016. Since then, he has served as treasurer, president-elect, president, and is currently serving as immediate past president.
Bob was asked to join the Fort Collins Eyeopeners Kiwanis Club in 1990. The Eyeopeners sponsored his son’s Boy Scout Troop and the invitation came from a fellow assistant scoutmaster who was a Kiwanian. The club appointed Bob finance chairman shortly after joining and he continues in that role.
Bob has served as distinguished club secretary and club president. He served two terms as lieutenant governor, becoming the Rocky Mountain District finance chair during his second term. He served as district governor during 2011-12 and led a team to establish a vision for the district. Other roles he has filled in the Rocky Mountain District include treasurer of both the district and the Rocky Mountain District Foundation.
Now that his four children have become adults he no longer coaches or manages youth sports teams and scout troops. Instead, he stays active in the community through Kiwanis, church, and non-profit organizations serving youth. In addition to his four children and their spouses, he has three grandchildren whom he spoils as often as possible.
Bob is the owner of a business advisory and accounting firm specializing in helping small businesses and non-profits define and achieve their goals, providing performance improvement strategies, and planning for ownership transition. Bob firmly believes that all organizations deserve to establish a vision, set goals, develop a plan, and provide opportunities to serve society from a view of abundance rather than scarcity.
