2018 SIGNATURE PROJECT CONTEST WINNERS 

Kiwanis members change the world — one child and one community at a time. From playgrounds and parks to festivals and fundraisers, signature projects are the hallmarks of what Kiwanis clubs are known for in their communities.

For the second year, Kiwanis International held a Signature Project Recognition Program and Contest to celebrate the great work being done by clubs. The program showcases the many club-level projects Kiwanians undertake around the world to make a difference in communities. Members of the Kiwanis International Board Subcommittee-Communications reviewed qualifying submissions and chose the winners. The top three winners were announced and recognized during the Kiwanis International convention. (See the contest details.)

GOLD	Malaysia District, Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur
	Every year about 500 babies in Malaysia are born with Down syndrome. To help these children and families, the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur created the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation-National Centre.
SILVER	California-Nevada-Hawaii District, Kiwanis Club of Los Altos
	This year, 900 athletes participated in the Kiwanis Special Games hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Los Altos. Children who are part of the Adaptive Physical Education programs in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties in California compete in the 18 events tailored to fit the abilities of all athletes.
BRONZE	Italy-San Marino District, Kiwanis Club of Varese
	Martin isn't like the other wolves. And, the children in Italy and Switzerland know that's exactly what makes him so special. Martin is the main character in "Martino Piccolo Lupo" — a book designed for talking about autism to children.
