It's almost like being at the biggest Kiwanis International event of the year
The 2021 Education and Leadership Conference may not be in your travel plans, but you can be there in spirit with your own avatar.
To help with social distancing requirements, Kiwanis International is placing 200 cardboard cutouts around the main stage to honor the members who do great work but are unable to be in Salt Lake City June 24-26, 2021. Reserve your spot now or purchase a seat for a club president or another influential Kiwanian in your life for US$100. All proceeds benefit the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Your purchase will have a real impact on the lives of kids around the world.
The cutouts can feature the member’s name, district and Facebook, Twitter or Instagram URL. In-person attendees might just strike up a virtual conversation with you while waiting for the events to begin.

Look great as an avatar
We want the cardboard cutout avatar to look great! Here’s how you can achieve the best results:
- Photos taken by smartphones should work.
- When submitting the photo, make sure the file is as large as possible. Don’t compress it.
- Have someone else take your picture. Selfies don’t work.
- Stand 3 to 4 feet away from the camera and have the photo taken at your eye level.
- Include some space around your head and shoulders so that your body is not chopped off.
- Take the photo in front of a solid-color background. If that’s not possible, take the photo in front of a wall.
- Don’t stand in front of a window or a door. There won’t be enough light on your face.
- Your photo should be taken in a vertical (also known as “portrait”) format.
- Make sure your arms are inside the edges of the photo.
- The preferred file size is 2448 pixel by 3264 pixel (34 inches by 45 inches) at 72 dots per inch. Smaller files may appear blurry and not as crisp.
- Only JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIF and PSD files are accepted.
We will review your photo before it is printed. If there are any problems, we’ll reach out to you for a different image.
