*8:30-10 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time 2021 Kiwanis Education Conference Kickoff (Attend virtually or in person.)
Kick off your ELC in SLC experience at this opening session featuring Captain “Sully” Sullenberger. Captain Sully landed a plane in the middle of a New York City river after both engines lost power following a bird strike. Everyone survived with only a few minor injuries. Sullenberger is an expert in innovation in the face of disaster. His lessons on preparedness — particularly in the times of change and challenge — will empower you to reach new levels of excellence as a Kiwanis captain.

*1-4 p.m. Mountain Daylight TimeLeadership Seminars (Attend in person. Selected seminars to be broadcast virtually.)
Select one of these seminars to attend. These leadership master classes will allow current, future and potential club officers and committee chairs to discuss specific issues, concerns and successes — and learn best practices for each leadership role. Leave with a personal plan of action, which you can take home to help your club make the biggest positive difference possible in your community.

*4:30-5:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time — Caring for Kids Keynote Address (Attend virtually or in person.)

Play is critical to helping kids develop healthy brains, says Rachel Giannini. Rachel was so good at teaching preschool, she was asked to star in a documentary about the importance of early childhood education. “No Small Matter” examines why millions of children aren’t getting the care they need to succeed. Ms. Rachel — as she is called — will help your Kiwanis club make sure it’s providing the care kids in your community need.

*7-10 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time — ELC in SLC Opening Party (Attend in person.)
Have dinner, listen to music and spend the evening with your Kiwanis friends. Pick up some grub, grab a beer, wine or soda and relax. The cost for food and drinks is included with the in-person registration option.

What does diversity, equity and inclusion look like for your Kiwanis club and community? Join us for an interactive session where we will learn and explore these topics together. Be inspired by a keynote address from Hugh Anthony Simmonds, an avid volunteer who helps individuals uncover their passions and unfold their purpose. In-person and virtual attendees will participate in an interactive exercise and spend time with a peer group of Kiwanians to talk about how clubs can better serve and reflect their communities.

*9 a.m. - Noon
Mountain Daylight Time Meeting of the 2021 Kiwanis International Council (Attend virtually or in person.)
The Kiwanis International Board of Trustees declared that emergency conditions will exist through September 30, 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On February 22, 2021, the board determined that it would be impossible and impractical to hold a safe, accessible convention for its international membership due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, 2021 board elections will be conducted by the Kiwanis International Council to guarantee global representation prescribed under the bylaws and current pandemic restrictions. The Kiwanis International Council consists of the Board of Trustees, past Kiwanis International presidents, current district governors, the Kiwanis International-European Federation president and Kiwanis Asia-Pacific chair. The council members will elect the 2021-22 president, president-elect, vice president and three trustees representing the United States and Pacific Canada. Announced candidates for those leadership positions can be reviewed here.

*2-3:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight TimeKiwanis Children's Fund Annual Meeting AND A Kiwanis Celebration (Attend virtually or in person.)
Start this closing session with the annual meeting of the Kiwanis Children's Fund. Then, celebrate the impact Kiwanis clubs are making across the world. The top 10 finalists and the gold, silver and bronze winners in each tier of the 2021 Signature Project Contest will be recognized. The 2021 World Service Medal — the highest honor presented by Kiwanis International — will be awarded. The leaders who guided the organization through this difficult year will be acknowledged.

*7:30-11 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time — Kiwanis BBQ (Attend in person.)

Join fellow Kiwanians and guests for a relaxed night of fellowship and entertainment by country music legends Larry Gatlin and Lorrie Morgan. Wear your denim or your diamonds.
