Organizing a club

To charter a new Kiwanis club, a minimum of 15 new members with completed applications and checks is required. Members should discuss how often they wish to meet, including the day and time of the meeting as well as the club format that works best.

A formal election of officers takes place for president, president-elect, secretary and treasurer. New clubs should consider nominating a membership chair as well. Other positions, such as public relations officer or committee chairs, can be filled later — either by election or by appointment of the president or club board.
