Steven R. Ingram
Steven Ingram of Valparaiso, Indiana, U.S., was elected to a three-year term as a trustee of Kiwanis International during the 2022 Kiwanis International Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana, June 8-11. He will serve as a trustee for the United States and Pacific Canada regions of Kiwanis.
A member of Kiwanis for 22 years, Ingram has served as treasurer, secretary and president (2009-10) of the Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso. He also has served as lieutenant governor and governor (2017-18) of the Indiana District of Kiwanis and is currently serving as lieutenant governor of the district’s Calumet Division. Within Kiwanis, he served as the Key Leader chair since 2017 in the Indiana District, and he has received a Walter Zeller Fellowship.
Throughout his time with Kiwanis, Ingram has participated in club-opening blitzes and building new clubs. He is currently working on opening a club in the Kiwanis Duneland Division within the Indiana District. Ingram believes that club strengthening is a critical component to ensure Kiwanis has a healthy future, and that an important part of that work involves Kiwanis clubs sponsoring Service Leadership Programs.
Many of Ingram’s most meaningful Kiwanis moments revolve around his Key Leader chair role and volunteering at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a strong advocate for the Kiwanis-Riley Campaign, an Indiana District initiative working to raise US$1,000,000 to establish a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist Endowment to ensure that every mother and baby in Indiana have access to the best possible prenatal and postnatal care. He has received the Gerald L. “Jerry” Doran Outstanding Service Award for his work with Riley Hospital.
Outside of Kiwanis, Ingram, is a retired real estate appraiser, is a member of the National Association of Realtors. He has owned two successful businesses dealing with complicated analytics, allowing him to sharpen his skills in problem-solving, strategy, finance and marketing. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, restoring and preserving the home he shares with his wife, Patricia, visiting their four granddaughters and occasionally renovating houses.
